Pastor Stiegemeyer,
I just recently learned about Higher Things. I must admit to being intrigued at the idea of a youth gathering which is not primarily fun and games.
Does CTS officially support Higher things?
David,
I cannot answer for Scott, but I can attest to the distinct ethos that Higher Things has over and against other youth gatherings that I’ve attended. And I’ve attended a lot.
This is not to say that HT youth are any different than other youth. There is plenty of fun, normal and appropriate silliness, and don’t think for one second that boys and girls don’t flirt at these conventions.
But the structure and philosophy of HT is ever clear. Worship is distinct, study is distinct, and play is also distinct. There is a time and a place for all of them.
I encourage you to check out the magazine if you haven’t already, and check out their website: http://www.higherthings.org if you have a chance.
