Pastoral and student indebtedness is a challenge, but it’s not a problem. And it’s a challenge not just for incoming seminary students but for all of America (see this article on CNNMoney.com’ Web site for more on this). The Admission Staff at Concordia Theological Seminary recognizes the challenge and seeks to help students attain both their goal of studying to be pastors in and for the church, as well as their goal of coming out of seminary with as little student debt as they can. We do not decline any student based on the amount of debt they have coming into seminary. How, then, do we help them?
