Created in God’s image or evolved from a lower species?  Living in the promise of God’s eternal care or survival of the fittest?  These are some of the questions discussed every day among students, scientists, teachers, and most every segment of the general population.  Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana, is providing an excellent resource to help answer those questions by offering Dealing with Darwinism, October 9-10Presenting at the conference will be Dr. Dean O. Wenthe, President, CTS; Dr. Adam Francisco, Assistant Professor of Historical Theology, CTS; and Dr. David Menton, Associate Professor Emeritus of Anatomy at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Menton also serves as a speaker for Answers in Genesis which is the organization responsible for the Creation Museum located just outside Cincinnati, Ohio.

The conference will focus on what one might call the ideology or worldview of Darwinism. The various presentations will focus especially on responding to Darwinism from a scientific, theological, and historical perspective.  “Much of contemporary science and, in fact, culture is informed by a Darwinian worldview,” says Dr. Francisco. “No matter how you look at it, one thing is clear: it is inimical to the Gospel in particular and a biblical worldview in general. Dealing with Darwinism will assist anyone concerned with contending for the biblical faith against its chief opponent.”

College and high school students, pastors, teachers, and parents will benefit greatly from this conference. Anyone interested in learning about Darwin and various ways to think about and respond to Darwinism will find the conference stimulating.  For more information or to register, go to www.ctsfw.edu or phone 260-452-2172.

New CTSFW.EDU Launched

The next time Internet users head to Concordia Theological Seminary’s Web site, www.ctsfw.edu, they will see a whole new look.  The update is much more than cosmetic, as it will afford users the opportunity to navigate much more easily and find all the information they seek.

“The real key here is that we’re designing a site to allow God’s people to know what’s happening at their seminary in Fort Wayne and to give them access to its great storehouse of resources for them in mission and ministry,” commented Rev. Bill Johnson, CTS Educational Technologist.

The Web site is updated constantly to give users the most up-to-date information on student opportunities and seminary events.  As part of providing the most current information, the site now integrates with social networks like Facebook and Twitter.  This allows users to see what is going on at CTS and to leave a comment, as well.

Plans for the near future include supplying a full catalog of the seminary’s vast multimedia resources; including videos of conferences, Symposia presentations, retreats, and more.

Take a moment to visit us at www.ctsfw.edu and see what’s new for you at CTS.

Best of Blog: This Week In Seminary

Four students at two seminaries take the time to reflect on their individual formation at Fort Wayne and St. Louis. This exemplifies the cooperative relationship that the students, faculties, presidents, and admission teams enjoy right now. The comradery is lively and informed. Check out the insightful posts and reflect along with them. Catch a glimpse at the inner experience of pastoral formation, right from the source.
